We have already mentioned the power of application, which is "the use to which something is put". To apply the WORD of God in our lives daily calls for obedience.
in John 14:24 Jesus says, He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. (NIV) Jesus is saying that people who fail or refuse to do what He says have no love for Him. We often sing songs such as "I Love You Lord, and I lift my voice, to worship You"! The key word in this song is "LORD". Lord is translated from the Hebrew Adon; denoting ownership; hence, absolute control. Then we see the Greek word kurios which means Lord or Master which states supreme ownership, he to whom a person or thing belongs, the master; the one having disposition of men or property, as the owner of the vineyard in Matt. 20:8, 21:40, Mark 12:9, Luke 20:15.
In Luke 6:5, as Lord of the Sabbath, Jesus was able to do whatever He wanted to do with the Sabbath. Lord is also a title of honour and is expressive of the respect and reverence with which servants salute their Master (Matt. 13:27). Yes, as we see God as our Master we must willingly do everything He says. Isaiah 1:19 says, if ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. (KJV) Not just doing it because the Master says it, but doing it willingly!
I promise, you will always get the right answer from God. To obey God is having power of every attack of the enemy!
